The film tells the story of Barik Sale, a refugee from Darfur, who has fled his home country as a child after his village had been destroyed during the murderous civil war that had taken place there. He embarked alone on a refugee’s journey through Libya and Egypt, and arrived in Israel as an unaccompanied minor. Barik talks of his escape, the violence, and the sense of alienation, recreating his traumatic journey through audio and visual means. He uses foley studio recordings (sound effects) and field recordings made with a binaural microphone, which creates an all-around, three-dimensional audio experience. The film was commissioned by Field Hospital X.
