Dor Zlekha Levy is a multimedia artist who specializes in audiovisual installations, video art, and live performances. Sound is a core element in his work. Ongoing collaborations with musicians are essential to his working process, from conception to installation. His creations echo forgotten traditions, exploring them in a contemporary light. His works bring to life the voices excluded from Israeli cultural discourse in a way that allows them to not only be heard, but be listened to.
Zlekha Levy created large scale audiovisual installations for national parks and heritage sites, such as The Beit Guvrin Bell Caves and The Arches Pool. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Braverman Gallery and Room25, and he has participated in numerous group exhibitions at The Israel Museum, Kunsthalle Stavanger, The Museum of Islamic Art in Jerusalem, and more. His videos have been screened at international festivals including Ars Electronica and institutions among them Kadist Foundation and ICA London. A former resident artist at Artport Tel Aviv, Dor is a recipient of the 2017 Israeli Ministry of Culture Prize for a Young Artist, and was awarded the Zoom Prize for a Young Israeli Artist in 2016. His works are held in the collection of The Israel Museum in Jerusalem and in private collections.
